We live in the midst of the Digital Revolution. It's not just AI, sweeping changes to the fabric of society have already changed the nature of employment and the landscape of commerce. While some leverage technology and reap enormous rewards, others get left behind, effectively "digitally disenfranchised". Through a simple lack of everyday Digital Skills, many of the most disadvantaged people are further disadvantaged, but it doesn't have to be this way. Basic Digital Skills training can completely turn someone's life around. I've seen it happen, many times.
DIGITAL SKILLS TRAINING IS A FAST-TRACK WAY TO GET DIVERSE AND TALENTED JOBSEEKERS FULLY TRAINED FOR EMPLOYMENT
That's where Digital Skills training makes the biggest impact. By delivering courses on everything from basic IT skills like the use of email, devices and software to advanced digital skills like website construction and spreadsheets, we ensure the disenfranchised become the empowered, the job-seeker becomes the employed, the unconfident become the adept.
I've delivered basic Digital Skills training, on behalf of Google, GetSetUK and We Are Digital, since 2019. With UK Lottery funding I've even set up a local training centre in my own home town to deliver effective Digital and Employability Skills.
I've witnessed firsthand the incredible positive impact it can make in people's lives.
Both public and private sector organisations have effectively moved operations online.
So now more than ever, there is a critical need to avoid digitally excluding those customers that struggle to use these digital services.
Whether it's filling in forms, applying for jobs, managing finances or simply making the most of Digital, it's been wonderfully rewarding for me to assist so many people via remote training, or personal mentoring. I've done this in partnership with positive forces for change such as The Department for Education, Learn with Google, Digital Boost and others.
